Amends the Toxic Substances Control Act of 1976 (TSCA)
H.R. 2420 establishes uniform national standards on the use of lead, mercury, hexavalent chromium, cadmium, polybrominated biphenyls, and polybrominated diphenyl ethers in electroindustry products. These standards would equal the maximum concentrations established under the European Union’s RoHS Directive and would apply to electroindustry products that are manufactured or imported after July 1, 2010.
New Electronic Components Library Launched
Largest collection of technical papers for the components industry
The ECA Digital Library is a compendium of technical papers presented at ECA sponsored conferences and symposiums. More than 1,700 technical papers are searchable by Title, Abstract or Authors and can also be viewed as a directory of papers from each conference.
Revised Joint Industry Guide (JIG-101) Published
The “Joint Industry Guide - Material Composition Declaration for Electrotechnical Products - JIG-101 Ed. 2.0” is an industry materials declaration guide that facilitates reporting of material content information across the global electrotechnical supply chain. The original JIG-101 was initially published in 2005 by the Electronics Industries Alliance (EIA) and JGPSSI, and supported by the Electronic Components Association (ECA) and the JEDEC Solid State Technology Association.
